Power 99-04 vs 96-98

Where do the extra horses come from in the 99 and up V6's ? Heads and intake right ?

I think that right all I know is I had a 95 v6 auto and that thing was slow.

To the best of my knowledge, intakes. Pre 99's have single port intakes, while 99+ have split port. I don't know if the heads are the same.

the heads and intakes are split port designed and 01+ have intake valves that keep the short runners closed (they have short and long runners 6 of each) under a certian level of vacume (getting on it) they open up to get more air in.

they are a good second faster than the pre 99s

Has anyone ever put 99+ heads on a 96-98 V6 ? Will that work ?
