power antenna - do I have to pull the fender?

So finally putting a stereo in the car ('68 fastback) after many years without, I also bought a power antenna kit from Mustangs Plus. (the car lives under a car cover in my garage, so power antenna would be nice).

BUT at first look I think I need to pull the fender to get access to install it. Any other ideas?

No, just remove the splash shield.

I would have thought that you could do it just by removing the splash shield so long as it has been properly installed (mine is screwed in from the wrong side).
