Going with a ssbc power disc conversion kit for my 66, currently with c4 auto. But next winter I'll be doing the 5L efi w/t5 swap. I tried to do a search but didn't have any luck. I'm going to modify it to work, but I wanted to know if/how many guys are running the t5 with a power booster.
quite a few....I know mustang steves kit fits fine...uses power brake booster/master and a cable clutch setup...I also know that there are quite a few boosters you can use with a hydraulic setup too
This is a booster/M.C. sold by NPD. This is in my '66 with T-5, stock clutch linkage, 4 wheel Cobra disc brake setup. 6 cylinder car (getting the same engine swap as you in a year or so).
Works well. Has about 1" clearance under the Export Brace. With the stock brace it had about 3/8" clearance. Plenty of room for stock clutch linkage.
I think there might be another picture on the web site in my signature under the mods I made to install the R & P.
Thanks guys. I just wanted to be sure. Like I said, I would make it work, but at least I know I won't have to invest too much time, since theres enough room.
I do have a new question tho Master Power Brakes told me theres 2 boosters available for the 66. A single diaphragm and a dual diaphragm. I forgot to write down which one was for which, but is there that much of a size difference? I'm assuming the single is for standard b/c its smaller.
