im getting BBK longtubes and im wondering whats the power diff betweent the two cause the h pipes are cheaper and have better sound, and is mostly any h pipe compatible with the bbk headers and mac catback thanks

I had my x put on yesterday (so did Daggar) I got it catted.My stock H had a low rumble,my x has a rumble also,but has a meaner growl!! I hear the off rd X's have a higher pitch sound,but to be honest I like the catted X sound better then an H!!!

There have been many many real track tests of both the X and H crossovers. Pretty much they have been proven to be almost equal. The x does have a tiny advantage- but it isn't enough to notice on the street. You are talking less than a 10th of a second.
You can do google searches and come up with the info. There is a very good site put together by some pontiac guys who did back to back races with different systems and posted their exact results.
In my own experience- if you have a small block motor with any kind of mufflers other than flowmasters(flowmasters pretty much over power everything with that tin can sound) you will notice the weird "X" sound. Personally I don't like it. really quiets down a stock engine. I had one on a 70 Chev El Camino 350- Went from sounding cool to like a V6 car. Needless to say i yanked it back off shortly after it was installed.
If you have a radical engine with noticeable lope- or a big b- then distinctive "X" sound is kinda cool- mainly because the engine is really driving it- but its still a weird sound.
For me- its gotta be an "H" or straight pipes for the proper V8 sound.
it makes the exhaust kind of "clap" or pretty much make it sound like a rusted out f150. or from the exhaust ive heard with the crossover pipe out, thats what it sounds like.
