You're welcome. However, at this point I'd be pm'ing this guy if I were you:

Unless you're going with heavy forced induction, the Performer will probably be better for you than the Typhoon (Performer RPM) anyway... and it's hard to argue with $250 for either.

Well... I already have the edelbrock performer intake....I'd like to step up to the Performer RPM. I'd also like to get a polished intake and then have it powdercoated clear to keep her nice and shiny.

Are you saying that the Typhoon (performer RPM) version only compares to the edelbrock performer (non-RPM) series?

Forced induction is actually on my wish list. Currently I'm just getting the EFI swap out of the way, then will be seriously looking at a centrifical SC setup.

If you want more intake, step up to a RPM II, Holley Systemax, TFS Track Heat, the RPM I just as shorter runners up top compared to the regular Performer.

Indeed. The Typhoon is a Performer RPM knockoff, and in a n/a combo with reasonable cubes the Performer should offer more power under the curve. The advantage the RPM manifold(s) would offer in a turbo/supercharger application isn't enough to justify stepping up to them if you already invested in a Performer. As 90 said- you'd be better off skipping that step and moving right into an RPMII, Victor or some such to get more out of your boost. Not worth doing unless you are already boosted though- since you aren't exactly running the stocker now.

I'd love to go with something more agressive. Unfortunately hood clerarance is an issue. I'm going to have to install a drop base air cleaner just to get the RPM to fit.

Just so everyone is clear: I'm looking at carb style intakes here. My EFI conversion is going to be completely custom...not a "swap the stuff from a newer ford" type of conversion.

I'm hoping to keep the classic looks as much as possible. So unfortunately modifying the hood is not an option.

Forget everything I said.

*shakes head*

"How the hell did I miss that?"

I somehow managed to get through this whole thread without looking at your sig. I have no clue about the carb-type Typhoons... or any of the other brands, for that matter.

Well, its easier to clean up the carb'd Typhoon becuase the runners are a lot shorter than the EFI version. But I've read somewhere that the carb'd Pro Products manifolds are a little rougher than their domestic counterparts as well. But if you're doing a gasket match and cleanup anyways it doesnt really matter in my mind
