has anyone run a power steering cooler on their street car? I can't seem to find the cobra R cooler anymore. Since power steering is actually atf, would the ford racing automatic transmission cooler work? i'm sure it will work 100X better than the stock "cooler."

this one:

would it be overkill? anybody know the dimensions of the "R" cooler?

My bronco came with one factory, not very big, smaller than that one actually. 88 bronco, c4, 351. would probably do the trick, you might be able to find one as i imagne it would be more common

cant remember if the pre-94 tbirds have a ps cooler or not but my old 94 did. might hit up a boneyard and grab one.

if you want a new one, this one looks like it should do the job http://store.summitracing.com/partd...888847+4294906579+4294782897+115&autoview=sku

Does anyone know the size of the lines to the OEM cooler hoop? That would make finding an aftermarket unit a bit easier.

I would guess 1/2 inch lines....maby 7/16. Pull a line off (pinch it first with some sort of pliers) and measure.....you will loose some fluid but it's easy to top up

Or you could just use synthetic ATF and not worry about the cooler.

Unless you plan on racing your heart out on road courses….I'd say save your money for something else. I'd think a oil cooler would be more beneficial IMHO.
