Just replaced my powersteering pump today that I bought from a Ford dealership. A Reman pump. :jaw: OMG this thing is louder than my supercharger!Tryed to bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from left to right. It got a little quiter. But still very loud. Is this somthing that gets quiter over time? Or is this what I am going to have to live with?

did you use the right fluid? ford ps pumps take ATF, not regular power steering fluid.

Make sure you use ONLY Type F Fluid in your Power Steering System and you should bleed the System when you first change the pump by having the nose of the car off the ground and by turning left and right lock to lock several times and then you should be able to drive it after that.

Thanks Shakerhood I do have Type "F" transfluid but I did not lift the front of the car. Will do this in the morning.

many of them are loud out of the box, and that's just how they are.......imo no point going with a new ford unit, take it back, get your money, and start going through some autozone reman pumps till you find a quite one.
