power steering pump relocation question

well i want to get rid of my a/c pump (doesnt work and i have t-tops anyway ). do i have to get a power steering relocation bracket, or can i just get a smaller belt?
btw my smog pump is already gone.

I tried that, won't work, the belt will rub against itself.

what about the adjustment on the tensioner? you know the extra hole on the bracket?

get the fms a/c delete kit and then do this:

i would but the car kinda looks this this right now

I have an 88 GT and removed my A/C, made a new power steering bracket and fitted for a new belt, I have about 1/2" clearance between fan pulley and the altenator and didn't use another idler pulley.

ok let me chime in

i removed my ac and smog and got a tensioner off ebay...that was all it cost me....like $12 i reused the stock bracket to main tain the correct spacing so the pullies would line up......and no u cant use the stock tensioner once the a/c is removed besides u can drop a goodamount of front end weight.....

Hey Roadblock, did almost the same but added a plate on top and use that for mounting my coil on.

i likethe black intake and valve covers nice touch color is almost the same as mine, how did ur bud make them black?

there are 2 hole in the head if u take off the ac/PS pump u'll see what i mean....anyway there are 2 holes in the head and u move it from the lower one to the somewhat higher one.....also if u look at the bracket wherethe PS pump used u will need it again to maintain the correct spacing or u can use some washers from like lowes or home depot....

i cut and reused the old bracket, if i had it to do again i would use washers......

that singe bolt with washers for correct pully alignment is all that mounts it, that lil pos scrap i used was just to keep it from giving in under belt tension, think of it as a stablizer bar...

the alt i bought that special tensioner for i plan on getting another one for the PS pump but i just havent gotten around to it

you can buy the upper black from trick flow. just a different part number. same with the VC's, just look in the FRPP catalog.

i think it is the FMS delete kit. he did use the little power steering bracket(that holds the A/C and pump together) to bolt it to the head. looks like this without the pump on

I ordered my A/C delete kit from ford about three weeks ago and it is on back order, so I will be getting it June 7th, it cost about 40 bucks

another question

just noticed.
seems my bracket is different than most of yours....
one solid one for a/c and p/s. any idea what i can do about that?
