Hello,

A couple days ago my drivers window went out in my 01 Mustang Gt vert. It is stuck in the down position so I can't get to the motor. How do I get the window up so I can get to the motor? Also, how do I find out if it is just the bushings instead of buying a new motor Any help is appreciated.

I had this same problem the other day when I went to leave my car at the airport ( not the best time for it to happen). After messing around with it for about 30 minutes I slammed the door and now the thing works. According to the dealer It is know that the window motors can develop a bad "spot" and by slammming the door I must have caused the rotor to rotate just far enough to allow it to work. It is worth a try.

mine's been doing it too lately and it is still doing it. i tested the motor and it was bad (so i thought). so i bought the $96 motor and swapped it out, only to find it's still doing it :fuss: i havent figured what the problem is though. every time it gets stuck down, i have to take off the door panel and when the door panel if off, then it will roll up. if you really need the window up and the motor is shot, heres a trick my automotive instructor taught me. take two booster packs (24 volts) and hook them up in series. then connect the leads to a set of alligator clips and connect them to the wires going into the motor. the motor may not work on just 12v, but it WILL work on 24v :D . other than that, im really pissed right now too since im NOT going to rip off my door panel everytime i need to roll up my window :fuss: :fuss: :fuss:

I had the same thing happen on my vert 2 weeks ago. I pulled the doorpanel and disconnected the 3 bolts that hold the motor in. One you have disconnected the motor you can manually push the window up.

I then reconnected the motor to the harness and it worked again. I re-installed the motor and now it works like it should again.. has not acted up again.
