On my 95 Cobra the driver side power window moves down about 1/4 inch each time I hit the down button. To get the window all the way down i have to keep tapping the button. It goes up fine though with no hesitation. I don't hear the motor continually trying to move it either after it moves the 1/4 inch, it just moves, stops, moves, stops

I used to be able to make it work by just hitting the button while i was closing the door and it would work fine, but now that doesn't even work. I'm guessing the motor is crapping out but figured I'd ask here before I start buying parts. Thanks

does your passanger side go down with no problem?
if it does, try swaping the switch's
hopefully its something as simple as a bad switch.

I was thinking that there was a bad switch too. The contacts can get dirty from vinyl dressings and the elements.

Flipped the switches still didn't work, cleaned the contacts with electrical connector cleaner also before switching them. So it's either the motor or the regulator binding up

Did you manually power the motor to see if it acted fine?
Did you do continuity testing on the switch in question?

Those would have been the first two things I'd do.
