Powerball 4 Paint thread-

Anyone got some before and after pics?
I am going to go buy one and do my entire car. Anyone have any tips? Can i scar the paint with the thing? By spinning it too hard in one spot? i dont want to screw up my nice paint

I'm getting a nomal buffer soon, probably much easier to control than a ball and shaft.

i have no experience with the powerball, but a buffer you can burn through paint easily if your not careful.

False, a dual action buffer can be used by any one who has never used it and it would take a lot to burn the paint. Now tring to buff the paint with a power ball yeah good luck, I wouldn't try it.

I wouldn't use it either. maybe in small tight areas where a D/A couldn't get into, but definatly not on large areas. Like 1TallMF said, no control...

What he's referring to though is the powerball that's made specifically for paint.

To buff out scratches you need you a variety of pads with different "cuts" to them and a machine with enough power (torque) and slight pressure. The ball only has speed thats drill dependent, and the foam has to be really soft for it not to damage paint or else Mothers would get there arses sued by lots of angry folks with messed up paint. One more thing to add to that is it would be a real pain on some drills to feather the trigger and trying to avoid having it sling liquid wax or compound all over the car and your face and cloth. Trust me compound in your eyes burn like a mofo.
