If anyone can help me out or has been here before please help me out. I have an 1989 mustang mostly stock and am installing a 9# BD-11A Powerdyne (4-5hrs instal), yeah right. The biggest problem I am having is that the alternator doesn't clear the sway bar when it's in its new position. I am puzzled as to what to do. The second problem is that fins on the alternator make contact with the bottom of the supercharger bracket, it's not even close!

Any help would be great. Thanks.:D

Stock alternator

I have the stock alternator. I emailed powerdyne and they said they have never heard of this happening. Now I feel stupid. I have spent hours trying to figure out what is wrong. This doesn't seem like a difficult step. I also had to move the vacuum box. It was funny that Powerdyne admitted to me that the directions need re-written because they are very vague. I will try to post some pics, I'm still new to this.

Here's the pics

Here are some views of where I'm at. As you can see the alternator is resting on the front of the sway bar. Also the fins on the alternator make contact with the supercharger bracket. Yes Powerdyne is in still around they sold thier patient to a different compay (O2Force).

Yes, the car is up on jack stands. Is that why? Please be specific as I'm not sure why that would matter... Also, the blades of the alternator touch. How do I make the pictures bigger??? I'm new at this and when I try and make them bigger, stangnet says there too large... HELP

Try lowering the car down off of the jackstands. If the tires are on the car just put it all the way down, if not lower it to right around where it would normally sit. The sway bar could be putting enough pressure on the alternator to make the fins touch the bracket. Worth a shot, will only take a couple minutes to verify.
