Powershifting... Goods and Bads

Welkl im pretty much sure i know the goods..

Today i was taught how to powershift and i can do it now... I tried 5 times from 1st to 2nd and all 5 times were successfull... Providing i dont miss a gear, is this really hard on the trans??? Ill probably only do it racing.

T-5 go boom. If you plan to power shift, get a pro 5.0 shifter and set the positive stops. If not, you are on borrowed time.

I got a T5.. everything works great.. its rebuilt.. And i have a pro50 shifter... soo am i set???

Definitely get the Pro-50 shifter, but you will still tear the trans up. You'll lose 2nd or 3rd gear, usually 3rd. It does feel really good powershifting a sloppy old t-5 don't it?

Well so far i havent missed once..... is this a once in a long time thing to do??? As i said before.. syncros are fine.. no grinds anywhere or popping out of gear

Just about anyone can get 1-2. Can you get 2-3.

A pro-5.0 shifter and a fresh T-5 is a good start. It is hard on parts. Good luck.

I've known people who were replacing gears and synchros every several months, but they raced every weekend. When i tore mine out i got a TKO, it seems that most switch to TKO, but a lot go to a C4 auto. Powershifting is great but it WILL take its toll, only doing it every now and then like you plan to do you could go a long time before a failure, but there will be a failure. I honestly miss my T-5, i loved powershifting it.

2nd to 3rd i never tried and i dont wanna try yet bc i might miss.... my shifter is missing the spring thatll throw the shifter over out of 2nd..... Aint gonna risk it yet

I dont think its a great idea but hey if you have money to buy a new trans every now and again just do it. I'd rather lose a few tenths and speed shift.
