Brakes Prebent brake line help needed

Complete new stainless brake line kit for my 83 GLX..... getting around to installing the line that goes back to the rear and where it attaches to the line across the firewall is not going to work.... I have temporarilly attached it to the bottom of the car where it fits very well but you can see in the pictures its off where hooks to the firewall line...
I cannot bend it any more so I believe my option here is to cut and reflare one or both ends..
No I do not have a flairing tool or have I ever done any flairing before...
Thought I would take the line to a local shop and have them do it....
Anyone add some thoughts to this problem?
This brake kit fits 82-84 mustangs.....

I think i had the same issue. I just added a little "kick" to the tubing on the line running to the rear of the car to take up some of the extra line and put the union closer to the firewall.

If I cut and reflared it isnt' there the possibility that the tube can crack?
I have bent it all its going to bend.... Should have seen it before i bent it.....
Where the line bolts to the rest of the car is close to perfect, I hate to adjust it elsewhere...

More pics..... The line comes up through a hole in the sheetmetal and then takes a loop towards the pass fender.. There is no room to bend it with this loop.. Too bad the line doesnt' come straight up then bend towards the firewall line... It would bolt right up..

Put a slight "S" bend, toward the firewall, in the line coming up from the bottom... Should line right up then

Or just cut it back and reflare... Not hard

Stainless lines are incredibly difficult to flare. Not saying it can't be done, but you might want to practice first.

I'd work in an S-bend to try and make some room.

Here’s mine. I have it coming straight into the engine bay a bit more before making a bend out to the fender

Wrap/loop the line around a 1" socket. That will shorten up the line so it will match up.
You use a socket so that the line will not kink when you bend it.

I understand what you are suggesting... Just had some bad experiences with kinking in the past... Not to excited to destroy these brand new lines..
I sent a picture to NPD, where I purchased these from and asked them why the lines do not hook together..... Lets see what they say...

The SS lines are actually pretty robust. I’ve been pretty aggressive with them and haven’t had a kink. That’s one of the main reasons they are a pita to flare. They are very strong.

But I understand your concern. See what they say and go from there

You can wrap/loop brake lines around a socket all day long and it will never kink. Try and do it free hand or over a edge and it will kink every time.

Ty... I heard back from NPD. and lets just say I got a $2 handjob.... Last dollar they will ever see of mine...
I am going to call them and ask who supplies their lines and buy one from someone else....
Had a bad set on my dodge and I ordered a set from someone else and it was perfect..... Wish I could remember who??
As I said, BOTH of these lines were from the same company and they don't work....
Now its become MY problem.......

Agreed, but a GOOD flaring tool will have no problems (not harbor freight)

I found a flyer in the box ( for some reason I kept it) and they are Classic tubes...
Funny thing is the new line where it goes under the floor pan, then snakes up the back of the fender well fits like a glove there.....
Bring this up because one of the comments back from the " ford " specialist at NPD was " you have it pushed up too far" ... LOL... I guess he wants me to hang the line on the bottom off of some baling wire.....
Tomorrow morning I am going to remove it and install the original fuel line and see if it will connect with the new firewall cross over line.... If it works I might just run it....
Oh, and tomorrow I will attach some pics the " ford " specialist sent me.... LOL....

Those lines where you are trying to hook them together in my experience rarely fit nicely without some "input". I have done it several times. Grab that line coming from the firewall, bend that thing towards the drivers side, then bend the S tighter. The one coming up from the bottom, same deal. Don't be afraid to grab them and use some force. They will line up. The last thing I would do is cut that line and try to flare it.
