Premium Fuel ok?

I will be running nitrous soon(only a 50 shot until I get a new fuel pump) and I was wondering if it is ok to run 93 octane in the car to prevent detonation? I have a friend with an 03 GT and his car was messing up so he took it to the dealer and they said it's from him running premium fuel?? So is it ok for my car to run that octane? Or should I just stick to 87?

Octane is simply anti-knock. It will not give you better mileage or more power - actually, it, by itself, will reduce your power, though I doubt enough to notice. Using more octane than needed is a waste. Increased octane is for additional compression, timing advance, power adder, etc. If this ain't you, you're wasting your money.
Steeda04GT, detonation with nitrous is lethal. I'd run 93.

Except your piggy bank is lighter.

You want to throw your money away, let me know and I'll give you an address to send it to.

Why people think you need 93 with low compression like these cars are, are beyond me. Now if we were talking 10.5:1 compression or some advanced timing, then it would make sense, but a relatively stock car, absolutely no reason to run higher octane then needed, and 93 is not needed.
