I want to replace the head unit in my wife's 1994 GT convertible. It currently has the PAC model stereo which, I think, means it's got an amp in the front. Does anyone know what the specs are for the amp? Should I use it or bypass it? The pioneer receiver I'm putting in is 4x50. My understanding is that there are connectors in there to go either way and I need to decide which harness I want before I order from Crutchfield.

thanks for the help.

I'd use the factory amp, the 4x50 that your HU is rated at is peak, not RMS, more than likely you're getting only about 25w RMS to each speaker. check out the "outfit my car" section, you can find part numbers for the adapters to use the factory stereo.
