Yeah, about $1200. Which is crazy because it is such an easy job. You can also knock off about 3 hours when installing new parts because you dont have to scrape the gasket material from the heads or intake, only the block. Last time I removed my heads it took me about 2-3 hours just to clean up the heads and intake enough to reinstall them.

I would attempt it but I've never done anything like that. The only projects I've done myself on my car are:
My stereo, fixed my door motor, installed k&n (hah), installed alarm and remote starter, etc. I dont really have any hands on experience, however I think I have enough knowledge about the engine to get it done. I learned a lot reading here, still no hands on though.

I never had any hands on either. I just grabbed my manual and went at it. Now I could do it blindfolded. If you can install that electrical stuff then you are good enough to do the HCI.

It can probably be done with using a manual.

Did you ever figure out why you were lacking power? I still have not figured mine but Im about to buy a code scanner.

Actually, cleaning the MAF seemed to help a lot. I'm not 100% sure the problem is comletely gone but It definetally helped a lot.
