What's outragous? The headers aren't cheap and the install isn't either - LTs and installation alone can be near $1000! Labor on the catback and midpipe should be minimal but bassani pieces aren't the cheapest, but they are, as you know, high quality stuff.

i dunno...i posted some stuff earlier about exhaust prices and said that i got an estimate of 2240 for bassani cat back, x-pipe, and FRPP headers for parts & labor. but if headers itself can get up to 1k then it doesnt seem too bad to pay 1200 for cat back & pipes installed and everything. just trying to have a nice toy to play with when i go back to college and i think dropping around 3k alltogether for exhaust, k&n FIPK, and pullies should have me running good w/ LT1s and dusting all those freakin ricers! those LS1's will probably still own me though unless i can convince myself into a kenny bell or something, but like all college students...money sometimes gets scarce!

Don't ruin a nice Bassani exhaust system with FRPP shorty headers...the quality sucks and they don't make much power. Just my 2 cents...

i was about the same as you...
400 for x w/cats
300 for magnapak catback

Q's Stang ask around and find someone to help you install, it will save you some extra dinero. There's plenty willing to help out. Shops rape you.

First of all I got my o/r h (flowtech) and american thunder catback for around $450 shipped to the shop where I picked them up. Second, save yourself some moneys and do the install yourself. If you want LT's you can get MAC LT's on ebay for $330 or less with free shipping & insurance. If you don't want to do the headers yourself get them installed and do the catback and mid pipe yourself you will be surprised how much that will save you. You might consider going o/r, catted mid pipes are outrageously overpriced.

labor for pipes and cat back are only a buck 25...it doesnt seem that bad at all to me. ive never heard of people talking bad about bassani so i think im going to stick w/ that. and the only reason i mentioned FRPP headers is b/c i have an auto and unfortunately bassani doesnt make headers for that type of transmission and the guy who gave me the estimate said i should get FRPP or BBK headers...should i rather go w/ a BBK or hooker header or what?! at the moment i only have 1600 so i think im going to have to settle w/ just a x-pipe and cat back for now. then i dont know if i should do pullies & k&n FIPK or throw in some headers...any advice between the two?

Agreed. I paid ~ $275 for my catted X-pipe (used) & $400 for my catback (new). Best part was that I installed 'em myself, $0 labor. LOL

What's the average for LT installs? I had looked into it a about ayear ago and I think I was qouted $500 for the BBK LT's and about $1k for the install, $1,500 total, is that about right or way over priced?
