LOL, k, the heads alone cost several hundred, depending on what they are doing that doesn't seem to be way too much.. You should be more specific, what exactly are they doing?

Ask them how they arrived at that price - I mean, did they just pull it out of thin air or what? Is this an estimate and will you get an itemized bill when the work is complete? Are they charging an hourly rate? How long will it take them to do this work? For $2700 they ought to be working on it for 40 hours plus!

That wouldn't sound horrible for taking all of your internals out of your motor and installing them into another motor. I do have to ask though, why did you want to use the stock pistons and rods and crank if you are already changing them from one motor to another? I can see that money would be an issue but if you're already spending that much it may be a good idea to go ahead with a new rotating assembly.

I'd rather spend. $1000 on a nitrous system with all the goodies.

What do you need a new block for?

$2700 is just a few hundred less than a new Mach1 (N/A Cobra) engine, complete. Outside of the new ECU and maybe a couple stupid things here and there, you'd have a much more badass setup too.
