Their may be places to get one for less.

This sounds relevant to my interests. Seems lik a way better solution than just putting a new seal in and hoping for the best.

Make sure to keep the little tool. Comes in handy once in a while.

All other times, it just rolls around in the tool tray and gets in the way of whatever it is you're trying to find.

Yeah, that flywheel would go to a shop and get ground if it was mine. Needs the proper surfacing for the new clutch plate to properly bed. Not saying what you have won’t work but for all the effort I would have it ground. Would suck to pull it all back apart.

Yeah, he was talking about replacing it but it looks salvageable to me.

If you do replace it, I'd go with billet steel.

What you thinking for PP and clutch disk?

Picked up a Valeo kit that is supposed to be the OG King Cobra. Which is what was in there.

What's the consensus?

I've gotta take the bell housing off the transmission so I can degrease TF out of it. Easier to mount the bell housing to the block and then offer up the transmission after the fact? Or go through the difficult task of reaching those upper bellhousing bolts with the transmission in tow. Understanding that getting the throwout fork lined up will be a PITA without it already riding on the bearing retainer, but the bolt pattern on the transmission is way easier to access under the car.

Thoughts?

I swear, it'll be these little parts that will be the death of me. Throwout fork pivot is bent. Throwout fork is missing one of the retaining clips for the pivot ball. Ugh.

Pulled the bellhousing off. Gonna take it to the local car wash this weekend and pressure wash TF out of it. Ecological disaster indeed.

I don't think I want to with the bearing retainer since nothing is leaking and this was an off the shelf T5z that had all the relevant upgrades 15yrs and less than 10k ago. I'll probably just brass wheel the input shaft and sleeve to get the off.

Sleeve should be here tomorrow. Got the blocking plate and bolts/dowels for the clutch. Dowels for the bell housing are en route.

Found that I can get the actual Ford Racing throwout fork and OE pivot stud from the local dealer for a good price.

FML and open my wallet.

Also, I think I'm going to take the Cobra intake to the same machine shop and have them port match everything and gimme another 5mm on the throttle body opening.

You should swap the bearing retainer. Yours looks like ass in the image.

I don't recall it being very hard.
