Will turning the key to start position with the coil wire and fuel pump relay removed allow me to prime the oil system? Will the engine build oil pressure by this method? Will my gauge (aftermarket) register pressure by this method??
Thanks, Derek.

Ok will priming by hand fill the oil filter?..I have changed the oil, but due to time constraints I was not able to start the car again(done last week)...I don't like the idea of a cold start without having filter issue taken care of.

Motor was started for first time this this year last week. After a short trip I pulled her into the garage and did a full oil change at that time...I did not fill the filter though. Due to time crunch I could not at that time start her up and had to move on to other projects (wife related). Now 1 week later I am looking to fire her up, but don't like the idea of having a cold start AND having the oil filter have to fill at the same time. I'm worried the time it takes the system to fill the filter and get up to pressure, that the period of oil starvation may hurt the bearings..though I may be wrong.

So, remove the filter and fill it up. As long as this isnt the first time running, a cold start is not going to effect it. As soon as the crank is moving the oil pickup is going to suck up all that oil in the sump and spew it all over the internals. No need to worry. Fill the filter, it wont leak, and screw it back on. Give it hell!
