I installed a Pro 5.0 a week or so ago and I have noticed that the far right side of the shifter boot/console plate is hitting the top ring of the shifter. Can I just loosen the tranny mount bolts at the crossmember and shift it a little? Are the newer shift boot pieces any different?

I'm fairly certain my frame isn't bent because I just had some HPM SFCs installed and the shop said the frame was straight.

BTW - my car is an '87 GT.

I'm having a hard time getting a mental image of this. (I'm tired). Did you put the shifter handle on the driver side of the Pro 5.0 base? The shifter boot console should be trimmed up and slipped over (wrapped) around the shifter base.

I don't think I worded that correctly. :bang:

The top ring on my Pro 5.0 shifter (not the handle) is hitting the right side of my shifter bezel (square thing in the cener console that holds the shift boot).

ugh, I need to post some pics. I'm terrible at this describing thing.

i beleave he is saying the round base part of the shifter is hiting/touching the black plastic square piece that is attached to the boot and clips on...dont know what could cause this..never heard of it...
