i have an 01' mustang gt. 5 spd, 3650 tremec tranny. i was wondering how difficult it is install a pro 5.0 shifter. Do you just take the old one out and "drop" the new one in or is calibration/lining things up necessary.(i dont know much about this stuff) thanks guys :SNSign:
i installed a MGW on my 2k2 with 3650 tranny. if the pro 5.0 instructions are as good as MGW's you will have no trouble. remove old shifter, remove old silicone material, transfer small plastic cup to new shifter, lay a nice bead of permatex sealant on tranny, drop shifter on and tighten...pretty much cake
The hardest part of any shifter installation is either getting that plastic piece off the old shifter without breaking it, or getting the 4 bolts that hold the inner shift boot out without smashing the socket wrench against your plastic dash piece.
