Anybody run these Pro comp aluminum cylinder heads? ever even heard of pro comp? they have 190cc intake runners with 2.02/1.60 valves and 60cc chambers. Theres a machine shop out if Cali thats selling them for 760 a set on ebay...

good deal or a kmart-brand aluminum turd?

Patriot-performance.com

They are a much better version of those heads at only a little higher price.

Pro-comp = junk. I'm ditching mine very soon.

I had a very similar experience as whats written in the link below.

In less than a few years, what once was the territory of only reputable companies (performance aluminum heads) has become the bread and butter of chinese made knock offs.

Pro-Comp and Patriot fit that bill.

"Patriot Freedom" heads, what a crock of ****

The patriot heads are Chinese knock offs, but they are worlds better than pro comp heads. The wont stack up to AFRs or Trickflows in quality but they are a good alternative, the guy from AFR says that himself.

It depends where you buy the Pro-Comps from as to what components you get. I have bought a few pairs from a shop in WV that does their own machine work and installs thier own valvetrain, PBM valves, springs, Viton seals, etc... I've checked the valve job, guides etc and have found them to do be in spec. Now that being said they are far from the best flowing heads available but for the run of the mill combo and budget, the $700 head works well. I have a set of the 210cc versions on a 11.8:1 393, goes 10.10 @ 130mph in a 2550lb car, with some converter issues. I think the car will go 9.80 @ 135mph once the issues are worked out.

You can find the Vic Jrs at times around the $1000 mark, they are a good choice for a 190cc head as well. Now if you price out porting a Pro-Comp to get them to flow decent you can afford a AFR205 that flows better right out of the box.....

My choice would be a AFR205 but it just is not in everyones budget or needs....

Rick has my set of 210 procomps that were given to Greg at XSRcylinderheads for his Stg III treatment. Rick is putting them on my NA EFI Dart 427W motor. Here are a few pictures of the worked chambers/ports
