Once your in the heads and cam area go ahead and replace the rockers, my heads came with 1.6 scorpion rr's, ive heard great things about them. And also whenever you replace your came, MAKE SURE to replace the valve springs, what ever cam you get, call up the company, tell them what cam and heads you have and ask what valve springs you should use.

What im wondering about it the sickest rumble idle i can get from what cam? i dont know what cam i would get.

A cam with poor idle characteristics is a problem to drive in traffic. The jerks and surges can be a real problem at stop & go low speed. Even street crusing at low speeds can be less fun. No pickup when you mash the pedal until the engine gets up past 2500 RPM or so. Save the lumpy cams with poor idle for the racetrack - you'll love them there, because they are operating in their best performance envelope.

My car does this. My dad bought the motor off a guy when my GT broke a piston into pieces. It either has an E or F cam in it. Idles bad and no power till 2300rpm or so. It sucks. I need gears to make up for it.

I have a bcam, surges pretty bad most of the time, its a slug at around 45mph in 5th gear, i have to cruise around at 55, even when the speedlimit is 45. I love the cam, and dont mind it in the street, but its definatly noticable.

so if i get the gt40p heads, the typhoon intake what cam can i get that wouldnt be poor idle like you said. i don't race and i love street cruising and i wanna know what one will have pickup but will still sound really good.

You can call comp cams, or trickflow, and tell them what you want out of the car, and their specialists will tell you the best cam for what you want.

hey 79pacecar I thought you couldnt use stock headers on gt40p's...

I don't consider the rpm intake to be too big for a stock headed car unless you have stock gears. I picked up 2mph and .1 with the timing set around 10 degrees AFTER TDC. Remembered to pull the spout, reset the timing to 14 before TDC and I gained most of my torque back, and it feels a lot stronger past 4k, where the stock motor begins to stumble quickly.
