Prob. with new heads n in take, help please

I have done at least 6 head swaps in the past on 88-93 5.0's but this time on a friends 95, we installed trick flow twisted wedge heads, their recommended push rods that are 6.70 in long, a trick flow stree intake, edlebrock 70 mm T.B. 73 mm C&L mass air, left the stock cam alone. but used 1.7 trick flow roller rockers, car starts, back fires and quits, moved dist, timing set to 10 deg. car sputters, starts, quits, back fires, fuel set to 38 psi.........any thoughts, oh yes we pulled the intake and adjusted the rockers again, zero lash, plus 1/2 turn in the firing order , rotating engine1/4 after each cylinder...help?

It sure does sound like the dizzy or plug wires are not right. I would check it again

Install the stock MAF and injectors then try to start the car again. The MAF may be the problem.
