Even before I put my new intake on, the car seems to want to bog down at like 3000 rpms or so and just doesn't seem to want to power beyond that. Not really a problem in 1st or 2nd, but especially up in 3rd and 4th. Once it does that I back off it right away, at least for a second and shift to the next gear. Well the other day I didn't back off as soon as I should of and sounded like a backfire? Any idea what is going on? I'm thinking about checking some stuff tomorrow, like spark plug gaps, tps voltage and maybe play with the timing a little to see what happens. Any and all thoughts would be be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Can't really help you with the info. given .... but while you're in there ..... be sure to clean the MAF wires with some alcohol & a Q-tip (gently). It's possible that's where the problem lies.
