Just thought I would see what you guys thought. I installed an older Pioneer CD player in my friends car (probably a good 10 years or older HU). Well, hooked it up and everything played well worked fine. Well, my friend calls and tells me that it just stopped working so I come take a look at it and it's definately not turning on. Well, for one I found out that they tried to pull the deck out themselves and the antenna wire attached to the deck cut through so I have to re do that, but that shouldn't cause the stereo not to work. So I look at the harness thinking that maybe either the ground or power wire came loose. Nope appears fine, next I check the fuse on the player and the fuse that goes to the radio in the car and they aren't blown. I'm going to re do the wires and see if that helps, but it seems like the stereo is just dead is there anything else I should check or try? Unfortunately I don't have another stereo around to test to see if that one would work. Any help would be nice.

many times the antenna supplies ground to the deck if it is unhooked it may not work. some cars can be tempermental about things like that. and especialy a mustang.

Why was the radio pulled by friend? Sounds like they were messing with it or around the area and killed it. Time to upgrade.

Well it was put into an older Chevy Astro van, I had this deck laying around doing nothing and my friend needed some tunes. I'm not sure why they were messing with it, I'm guessing it wasn't working so they decided to see if they could see why maybe.....I need to pick up a new cage for the deck so you could play with it. When I pulled it out myself it came out pretty easily but I found the antenna wire got cut off.

the antenna should never supply the ground...
