I am installing the Baer 13" rear brake kit on my car (stock caliper). However, my parking brake cable is not long enough to reach the caliper in the new location.

Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do?

Thanks!

Kyle

If I remember right I grabbed each end with a pair of pliers and pulled, and it came out far enough. I'm talking about the metal ends that are attached to the cable, not the black outer sheath that the cable is in. I did this with the park brake off ....also I think I did back off the adjustment to give it more slack.
Underneath the seat area of the car there is an adjustment nut for the cables.

Thanks for the input guys... the brakes are on...but the e-brake cable isn't...at least not yet...think I need to lift some weights first...and then I'll work on pulling the e-brake cable again... hahaha

Does your rear brakes make a buzzing sound with the baer kit? I was test driving mine...and when I hit the brakes...I hear a buzzing sound...kinda sounds like the pads rubbing against the slots and cross-drilling in the rotor, but not sure...

Thanks!

I had to yank on mine pretty hard too. The little ring that the cable runs through that is mounted on the lower control arm can be bent to help route it better. I played around with this a little. The thing i had trouble with the first time though, is that I had to push the caliper pistons in, hook up the ebrake cable, pull the e-brake lever up, and then hit the brakes for the first time. When I didn't do it in this order I got some serious brake drag. Good luck.

Yes the buzzing is normal.
