When I stop normally at lights and stop signs the brakes work fine. When I get past the point of just slowing down a little and hit the brakes hard they don't stop the car any better. It's almost like if I push them down all the way they don't work. But if I hit the brakes a little they slow the car down just fine for normal driving.

I checked the front brakes 3 weeks ago and there was plenty of pad and the rotors looked fine. I also bleed the brakes and put fresh fluid in there. I just checked the brake fluid and its full.

Could the pads just be crap? Could it be the master cylinder? Anyone else have this problem? This problem just started a few days ago.

Thanks!

Are the rear brakes adjusted properly??? Check to be sure the pads aren't cracked or the rotors arn't glazed. If the rotors are blue and shiny that very well could be the problem. If the pedal goes to the floor, it very well could be air in the system or a bad master cylinder. It's hard to tell you w/o seeing it in person.
