I was just wondering if any harm is done by shifting through first & second manually on my automatic can cause any long term harm. I like to stay in second especially a little longer than the car does, so I frequently shift it myself. Any possibility on transmission damage?

make sure you get a tranny cooler first off.

Upshifting is ok, but downshifting is where you can cause damage.

I have never heard of this causing damage; unless you are taking it to the redline every time.

Whoa, just saw you had 4.10s and a Tuner. Definitely get a tranny cooler, even if you don't continue this newfound shifting pattern.

For anywhere from $75-$125 (depending on source) you can get a custom tune from a DiabloSport tuner that has the part throttle shift points adjusted. You can load the tune with your Predator. If you have a dyno run with a/f ratio readings, you can send that to the tuner and he/she can probably squeeze out a few more HP out of your car. Not bad for the cost when you compare it to other mods.

Thanks for the info, I figured I might need a tranny cooler ASAP. I am always nervous about killing my tranny. Thanks again!

Mine shifts so sweet I just put mine in "D"

"Stock" was actually better than my Superchip program and my Hypertech was way better than the Superchip, but it comes nowhere near the new KB chip. The KB was almost worth buying just for perfect shift patterns...but I still like all the extra HP.

Only time I ever "manually" shift is when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, particularly on highways, on-ramps, or when racing from a roll. Been doing this fairly often for over three years, and I have no problems whatsoever.
