so ever since i got the car, i hear this funny sound from time to time.

its very hard to discribe but lets say i have the cruise controll on, and the car starts to decelerate very slowly, like going down a very shallow hill, there is a kind of chirping/rubbing/spinning sound that i hear.

the sound makes me think of a thin steel ring that is spinning and rubbing or vibrating on something else, but is not constant. it is however pretty loud and goes away as soon as the car starts accelerating again

also it sill grind going into second from time to time, or just spit it out of gear on occasion. 2nd only

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

another problem i have is that everyone once in a while the car will start then die right away, this happens mostly when the car is warm. i drive the car for pizza hut so its on and off all the time.

it also has erratic idle from time to time

i'd say the noise sounds like a throw out bearing

other than that....the tranny doesnt sound like its solid so you might wanna check that out cause the car poppin out of gear would concern me

as for the erratic idle - thats just cause you have a ford =)
i have that same issue n i've tried everything to get to the bottom of it but ...never did so....i decided to let it solve itself or if it gets worse ill look into it again

Dam, you could by a promotion powertrain g-force t-5 capale of over 700HP launches for like $2000 and they would prob throw in a clutch. BTW, driving for pizza will kill the toughest of cars.

yea ive found alot of whole transmissions for cheaper than that, but it should be ok for a while as i dont have problems with it all the time.

as for the pizza being hard on a car, i know, i have a 92 talon tsi in the shop for some major work, ended up getting screwed over by them so its becoming a legal battle now, but when i get that back it will be taking over the pizza driving duty
