problems with gas tank

saturday morning i started my 93 just to let it run. later that day i was going to drive it and when i turned the ignition over it wouldn't start. my friend then noticed gasoline coming out from the rear end side. i haven't had a chance to look at it since i got busy, but what would you think it is? i thinking the fuel filter hose came loose, but i changed it a few months ago i the stang was fine. never seen this before.

The tank grommet is likely (where the filler goes into the tank). They're a POS.

Unless you were parked on a funky incline, the tank shouldn't have drained down so far as to keep the car from starting however.

i'll check the grommet. its parked in my garage, no incline.

Since you just payed with the high
pressure hoses, I would
suspect that first.

I got new locking clips for mine from NAPA and the
"O" type plastic
clip from Advance Auto

I had a stang with a leaky gromet like Hissin mentioned. I also had another stang that developed a bad seam.
