I just installed a set of steeda rear lower control arms. They are the tubular arms part# 555-4422. After install I drove the car and the rear end was whining and I have a vibration. I am going to reinstall the stock arms. I think that the steedas are a different length than the stock ones. Even so that shouldn't cause this problem.

find a long bolt or rod (need 2). pull off one side and compare to the stockers. if the rod/bolt fits easily into theboth of the mounting locations, they should be the same length and should not affect pinion angle.

I have these same control arms, and have no issues. Did you make sure to install them with the offset facing the correct way? It's been so long that I don't remember the specifics, but there is a specific way to install them.

shouldn't the larger offset (being the thicker part be facing the inside of the vehicle). The side that is on the rear axle.

I installed the Steeda Double adjustable arms and have noticed a little whine from the rear end. They mechanics did turn the arms about 1 degree for better launches at the track and i am guessing that turn is causing the whine..

I wonder if you did what I did with my Metcos? I figured since you had to grease the bushings, I'd grease the faces of the poly bushes so they would articulate better. Couldn't have done a worse thing. The arms have to be installed dry as a bone and then greased afterwards so the control arm pivots on the bush.
The wider part of the control arm should be on the inside.
Finally, did you tighten everything up while the car was on the ground (or resting the wheels on ramps)? Try loosening all the bolts again and retightening. I initially tightened to about 80lb ft but have since done mine up a little tighter than that.
Anyway the groaning I had before is now gone.

one thing you gotta realize is that when your changing out control arms for performance models your gonna get a lil more noise then you initially had. the bushing are much harder which in turn transmit more noise. as far as groans and squeeks you gotta grease those bushings up. as far as tightening the control arms, do this on the ground so the control arms wont bind up.
