I put My cat back on like 3 weeks ago and the thing wont stop clanking and banging.. It spissing me off to no end. No matter how I andjust it or how much I tighten it, it does the same crap. Any one els have problems with magnaflow catbacks????

Do you have the HF mufflers or the glasspacks?
Any ideas on where you think the rattle may be comming from?
Does is rattle all the time or just over bumps?

If you have the High Flow mufflers, are the intake and output centered or offset from each other? Sometimes (been know to happen) with the offset hi flow mufflers, they are installed on the wrong sides (driver/passenger) and won't get the proper clearance.

Another suspect place is where the tubing bends up and over the rear axle. Sometimes the tubing will hit the rear suspension or axle.

When I had my MagnaPack catback installed the Muffler shop said they had to mod the tubing a bit so it wouldn't hit the axle. So as Jinx said, it may be that.

A lot of people have complained about this. I installed mine myself and never had any problems with it coming loose, rattling or anything. I know you said you've tightened it up several times. Try looking at it really close to make sure none of the piping is sitting too close to the underbody anywhere or too close to your axle.

its prolly at the driver side corver of gas tank. Mine was hitting thre whenI initially installed it

I just installed my Magnaflow catback with a buddy this weekend. I have heard a noise from the driver side rear end when I hit a hard bump. How did you fix yours and what do you think the problem is exactly? Thanks!

its been a while.... i think I bent the bar that goes to hanger little, then I loosen all the connectionand retighten over xle tube first, while making sur that is clearing the plastic tank cover, then while friend of mine is holding that there, i tightn rest of the system. It was close, but did clear the cover. I did place those aluminum heat tape there just as precaution

I'm having that same problem with clearance issues on my flowmaster catback on the driver side. What are you people talking about when you say you bent the piping? How did you do it without messing up the smooth bends? I tried moving my tailpipe assembly around for about 45mins and I'm still having problems.
