I just installed a prochamber this weekend and it feels like something is wrong. It sounds like my engine is riding shotgun with me. I have a 01 GT and I took off the stock H and swapped it for the Prochamber. On the inside of the car it sounds like the passenger side is real loud when I step on the gas, but nowhere near as loud right beneath my feet, same for when im outside the car crouched down beside it. Anyone have this before? I used the gasket that came with it and the bolts are TIGHT! No check engine either. HELP!

If I turn the radio up it goes away, but thats also an aftermarket alpine and subwoffer that i gotta take into consideration. I dont know how to check for leaks. Any good ideas would help. And no I didnt replace the stock studs that were on the manifold just replaced the nuts that went on them. I also dont know if that gasket was paper. I really dont know what it was made from, it was bendable but yea i used it. The nuts were already a PITA to get off, so i didnt think about changing the studs. They seemed good and rusted in there anyways.

Without hearing it it is hard to diagnose. The Prochamber is louder than your stocker but it shouldn't be unbearable. From what you describe it sounds like you do not have the passenger side tightend securely or the cheap gasket that Mac supplies has blown out. Best bet would be to remove the pipe, get a new gasket from the Ford dealer and bolt it back up. It won't be nearly as hard to take off now that it has been removed recently.

The flange on the passenger side is not solid it has like a swivel to it as in it's no a solid piece like on the drivers side. so U may not have got it on as well as u thought also u need a gasket for the passenger side because of that non solid flange. did u reuse the gasket or did u not use one at all. the gasket can get burnt if the pipe was not put in and tightened correctly.

2 things:

1) does mac still send you that paper gasket (that you shouldn't use)?

2) did you buy the napa stud kit to replace the stock exhaust manifold studs?

Yep. I wish i knew what year the Taurus was, but I used manifold studs for a 97? Taurus because it is threaded all the way up. The GT's has a flat spot 1/2 way up. That helped seal up my drivers side. One thing with the Prochamber is that it doesnt matter how tight the bolts are, its how straight the pipes are when you tighten them. Im under my car every spring readjusting them. Good luck amigo

Jut wanted to say thanks for the help. Turns out my passenger side arm wasnt fitted up to the manifold just right. Which explains the loud noise inside the cab. Advice for someone who is gonna put on a prochamber or exhaust...find a lift!!

Took 3 attempts to get mine in just right and It sounded like I was driving around with open headers at times. I go to work at 530am so u can imagine how my neighbors were looking at me until it got done right. hehe

So how does it sound? What kind of catback are you using with the prochamber? I love the sound of mine with the Bassani's!:nice:

It sounds bad a$$. Im using stock manifold to the prochamber, then after that it is stock pipe with weld in 2 chamber flows. Hopefully I can get a video up on youtube soon. Its a pretty deep rumble and cant hardly hear it at all sitting idle. Its hard to describe, just that classic mustang sound. Just sucks i gotta take it off in June to get emissions just to turn around and put it right back on. Oh yeah...the open headers sound...SUCKS!! Ahh...the price we pay for a few extra horses and a couple turned heads.:)
