procharger questions

some sites sell the stage 1 8psi kit with a stronger fuel pump and some say the factory fuel pump is sufficient. what do you guys think? also, where would you buy from? i was leaning towards rpm outlet but some people have said they have bad service. thanks

And I'd use Focus or GT pump(s) or the whole Cobra Tank and pumps assembly. Some people have used Kenne Bell's Boost A Pump with good results...and a heck of a lot easier to install than a pump.

the site you gave me says fuel pump not required. did you buy from them?

I bought my procharger from rpm outlet, cheaper then superchargers4less and had no problems with customer service, in fact it was great. I put in the svt focus fuel pump that came with the kit.

Been running the stocker for a year now and the motor is still getting plenty of fuel.

i just called procharger and they said you don't need a fuel pump. so i guess thats it. i don't understand why rpm outlet says you need one. i asked them and the guy said "well you don't want to run lean now do you" bushman did you have yours dyno tuned?

im running a 255 pump and its not enough just ordered kb boost a pump i have a p1sc w crower blower cams 8 psi @ 405rwhp

I just installed a P1SC with a 3 row intercooler. If you are going to run the stock injectors, you might be able to get away with the stock fuel pump. The down side is it will cost you horsepower. I don't know about you, but if I'm going to spend that kind of money on a Procharger, I certainly would want the maximum horsepower benefits. Why cut corners at the end and cheap out? I installed the green 42 lb. injectors with the Focus SVT fuel pump. I also bought the Diablo 2 stage chip. I then had it dyno tuned to be safe. 378 rwhp/ 417 hp to the flywheel.

Dont even listen to them guys (procharger)....DO NOT use your stock fuel pump unless you have a KB BAP!!!!!!!!!!!!! You WILL destroy your motor before its time. Stock fuel pump will be totally maxed out and you will go lean on the topend.

Remember you dont have much room if you go lean...that motor just isnt designed to take detonation that happens under boost. Not even close to being worth the risk. Spend the $100 and upgrade the pump.

I ended up buying the vortech kit. I used the focus pump. Don't make the mistake like me and think you have to change the whole white canister. It's just the metal pump inside. The vortech manual said to cut the wires, so I did and then found out online that you just pull the pump out of the new canister and put it in the old one.(my mechanical experience is limited) So I spliced the cut wires, which was extremely difficult because of their location and put the tank back together. And then of course it did'nt work. So I said f it and got a new canister. Man was I pissed. I changed my mind about the procharger because the vortech kit with the sct tune from MPH had such a great reputation. It gave me 354hp at the wheels.

The vortech manual is not a manual for the SVT Focus pump.........
