I still haven't made My decision for my new intake yet. My final thought was to go with the Edelbrook performer 5.0 and the edelbrook 70mm throttlebody. The only thing is I'm being told by a friend the performance products intakes are recreates of the edelbrooks for like half the price. I looked into these intake and trottle boddies on ebay. Edelbrook is $500 from summit where the performace products is only 350 for polished! has anyone used performance products before? any opinions or suggestions would be greatly helpfull. I don't know if I should trust performance products.

Thanks!

There's tons of guys using the Typhoon intake on here with excellent results. The bad things about it vs. the Edelbrock are that it tends to have some issues with castng flash around the injector bosses, and the ports sometimes need reshaping. It's a good piece for the money, if you have the ability to take care of the minor issues that come with buying a knock off.

You can bolt the Typhoon on and run, but you'll see the most benefit from it by cleaning up the parts a little. It's no more than a couple hours worth of work IMO, but you'll save hundreds off buying the Edelbrock. It's totally up to you, and I honestly can't blame you for not wanting to fix a brand new part.

If its anything like the elbow I have from PP, stay away. That thing must have been cast in some kind of mud field, the fit was the worst I had to open up the holes to get my supplied bolts/studs to fit and align. properly. There was no instructions, and they shipped an odd number of bolts. the inside part was also very rough cast and not very even.

I am all about being thrifty and hunting good deals out, but this time it is better to pay the extra money and get the edlb.

I really didn't mind the quality of the intake, it is a nice looking piece for a price you can't beat. The throttle body does stick slightly, but never open. I only really have the problem after I go WOT and then drop my foot off the accelerator. For some reason it likes to stick shut slightly. It happens everytime I go to the drag strip, at the end of the track it sticks a little, all you have to do is tap the accelerator a little harder than normal and it goes back to acting just fine. It's hard to pass on a fully polished intake, adapter, and throttle body for $600 (I think that's what the package on e-Bay is selling for).

Don't forget that the Typhoon is a mock of the RPM, not the Performer.

I was hoping someone would say this..

1.With stock heads and no power adder, you DONT want the RPM or it's clone.

2. With moderately modded cars, the air flow on the Typhoon is still plenty that you dont need to "worry" about the worse casting.

3. If you do decide on the Typhoon, do NOT get their TB....it's junk...the intake is fine.

4. If you want to save $$, find yourself a used Cobra intake...They are a beautiful piece and look nice polished up.
