Professional Products - Powerforce Damper Questions

I got a her powerforce damper becuase mine was falling apart... It is a 6.40"" SB Ford (50 oz.) part number 80007. I need to know how to check if this is the correct dampner, it says its for it, but i dont know if i need a spacer with it or not (it did not come with one) how do i tell?

Never seen anything but an early (read 60's 70's) 302 with a spacer. Match it up to your old one it should be similar in dimensions.

As said above, compare it to the stock one.
I have an SFI aproved one from Summit that requires a spacer. (I wouldn't recomend it either)

Well i need a spacer evidently, it is too short... i compared the two, the damper (powerforce) was sitting were it should have been (according to water pump pulley) before it was pounded in. So i put the stocker back on the crank in the same position, about an inch or so longer, the exact length that you have to pound the new damper into the engine on the crank... GURRRR i have to wait until monday then wait agian for the diff part!!!!

Do Not POUND it on.
The puller set should have the propper fittings to "push" it back on.

or some just slide it on far enough (anti seize is a good idea on the hub) so that the bolt threads on. then tighten it up.
good luck.

lol it was a figure of speech, i wouldnt actually hit it on with a hammer or anything. I would get the damper tool at work... it will take me about 5 mins or less to install, but 5 total days waiting on the correct parts.
