Another baby step: came home tonight (after a 2-midnight) to find my two front tires on the front porch! inching closer every day now!
....... and almost forgot...... before I went to work, my friendly USPS mailman dropped off my strut to spindle bolts (that I thought I ordered months ago, but apparently never did) I’ll spare you the picture of the bolts!

Another piece of the puzzle! Can’t say enough about the quality of MM parts!!
Working this whole weekend, so now to find time to get this buttoned up, where I’ll just be waiting on wheels.

Ordered the Z23 ceramic pads from Powerstop on Rock Auto (stangnet discount code of course). I’m really just looking for decent stopping with as little dust as possible. Hopefully these are the ticket!
Still praying those wheels are available for order on the 23rd. Off from work the week of 27th, so really hoping to get this on the road that week. Fingers crossed.

Edit:
And this is something real simple....... but I ordered Ford dust caps from Tasca. It’s amazing how you can tell something is a quality part in a somewhat insignificant dust cap, as opposed to some cheap plastic Chineee knock off!

I just wish they would let me place the order, then say they were back ordered. But right now, you can’t even place an order until you get notification they are in stock.

So, I decided to check the LMR site to see if there was an update on the wheels. There was an update alright. Now it says they are expected on Nov 1. Not real happy right now.
I was about to order some different ones, but my wife and daughter convinced me to wait. They’re right....... I would always be looking at it wishing I had the wheels I want.
COVID sucks!!!

Sorry man. I'm in the same boat, looking at engine items currently due to the delay on wheels. Took over 2 months for ones that we got for my son, so I feel ya.

Yeah, this car has kind of become my “baby” so to speak. It’s not great, but it’s mine, and I don’t want to settle on the look I have for it in my mind. I really wanted to enjoy this fall with it...... but I guess I’ll just look forward to next spring, and improve whatever else I can over the winter.

What wheels are you waiting on? and couldn't you just pick up a cheap set of bullets or waffle wheels to drive the car on for the fall season?

I’ve been waiting on the all black 17” FR500 replicas that LMR sells.

I’ve found others in black with the machined silver lip, but it just doesn’t look right to me.

Tonight I found some “black chrome” Fr500 wheels from Lethal Performance.

The black chrome looks pretty freakin cool in the pics, so I pulled the trigger. They were $25 less a wheel too, so that didn’t hurt! Hopefully once I see them in person, they’re as nice as I think they’ll be.

Nice, yeah I've had the black with machined polished lip FR500 combo on my coupe for about six years now. I went with the polished lips to break up all the black. You'll like wheels when you get them and yeah the black chrome looks pretty sweet in person

In the pics, that machined lip always reminded me of a white wall. I’m sure it looked different in person. I always loved the mesh wheels with the chrome lip on the Grand Nationals back in the day..... it just fit that car!
I actually like this “black chrome” better than the black paint in the pics, so hopefully I made the right choice.

Edit: and right now I’m hoping they didn’t just take my money.... only to send me a “backorder” email tomorrow! We’ll see!

I can see what your saying about the white walls like. I don't have any good pictures of them on my red coupe but here is one with them on my daily driver which the wheels originally were purchased for. I felt the polished lip broke up the black and dark shadow blue

Oh sweet you went with the black chrome?

Yeah man it seems everything is back ordered these days.. .and if it isn't they take there time shipping it and blame covid

I’ve actually worried about the “too much black”. I’m hoping these wheels will show enough of the rotors and calipers to break it up.
That chrome lip on the dark blue and black looks pretty good.
I’m definitely a “have to see it in person” type..... so hopefully I made the right choice.
For the same reason, it takes my wife and I six trips to the tile store to pick out the right one! Lol.

Made a decision tonight.
Thought I found a company with FR500’s in stock, ordered them, they took my money, and now turns out they are in fact also on backorder.
I’ve always like Bullitt wheels since my first days with my 65 and 66 Mustangs.
Tonight I decided to go 17x9 Black Bullitts on the Foxbody.
I called American Muscle, told him my dilemma, asked him if they were definitely in stock, and he said they over 20 of those wheels.
By the end of this week, I should be good to go

I’m as surprised at myself as you are @General karthief But I’ve always been old school at heart, and I’m pretty psyched with this choice! Can’t wait to see it backed out in the driveway, ready to go!

Power steering filled and bled tonight. All brake pads in. A lot of final torquing on the suspension parts. Got my parking brake cables hooked up, but I think I’ll need some other brackets to keep them away from the tires. I think the SN95 cars had a bracket attached to the control arm....... so I’ll have to look at that.
I also realized I never got new bleeder screw for my rear calipers (old ones were pretty rough). I’ll pick those up tomorrow and get the system bled.
Then I’ll move the jack stands around so the weight is on the suspension, and get the rear upper arms torqued (rubber bushings).
The list is getting shorter and shorter

I'm almost certain the recyclers are the only option for finding those brackets.
A cutoff wheel and some bends in a bench vise along with a few insulated clamps made these.Looks like I need to swap in some stainless steel fasteners.
