Give me 23 years to test this one out, then I’ll drop it off!

I know I’m off the Mustang trail lately……… but I just gotta say, I love this f150 with the 5.0. I had an ‘18 STX with the 2.7 for a while, and I hated it. This ‘25 with the 5.0…… I will have for a long time for sure! I absolutely love driving this truck!

Honestly don't know. Can a naturally aspirated 5.0 replace my '00 F250 Powerstroke with a 7.3, 13,700 lb trailer weight & 20k lbs gross towing weight?

If so, I paid $6.5k. What could I buy its replacement for?

I’ve got an 2018 STX with a 5.0, I love driving my truck as well. Damn fast in Sport Mode. Oh, and I’m off the Mustang train too. I haven’t touched or driven the car in over a year. @Rdub6

Nice…… keeping with the white theme in the f150!

Wow…… over a year! Gotta get it out at least once in a while! Lol

If my ‘18 had the 5.0, I’d probably still have it!

I don’t think any of the 150’s have that kind of towing capacity.

Ok……. Back to the Mustang…..sort of.

Decent snow in the Northeast, so figured it’s a good time to get the car back up in the air and see what’s going on after a while of not taking a look. I’ll get an oil change done, clean everything up, and decide whether I’ll drop the tank to address my fuel gauge issues (although watching the mileage is kinda easy). We’ll see!

Looking at this thread again and seeing your picture of the truck……. That is definitely my favorite grill/front end of these newer F-150’s. Had that grill on my ‘18……. Definitely sharp looking!

Yeah me too @Rdub6. I searched around for a while for that specific truck. Funny though, I currently have it for sale.

Went back to my 2000 Tacoma.

I had the compression checked in the engine, 264k, and it passed with flying colors. After that, I replaced every piece of suspension on it, new steering rack, new tires, valve cover gaskets, coils and plugs, radiator, etc. Pretty much mechanically rebuilt it. Oh, and had the 3rd member rebuilt. I’ve had this truck since 2003. I sold the F150 last week to a dealer.

Although I liked the F150, I never fully trusted it. I know the 2018’s, which I had, had some potential for major mechanical issues. Oil consumption, 10 speeds transmission issues, phasers, etc.

Sounds like what I did when I got rid of my ‘18 and took back my ‘02 F150 for a few years when my daughter stopped driving it and bought her own car.
Good luck with the Tacoma. Can’t go wrong with Toyota!

My DD is a 2004 v8 4runner Limited with 270k on the clock. Would trust it to drive across the country in a heartbeat. If its not a Mustang, its a Toyota for my family.

Me too @gkomo . I just didn’t trust the F150, couldn’t do it.

The Tacoma is my daily again now, the family car is a 2017 GX460, which I love.

So I was about to go from these

To these:

But as soon as I started to loosen the old striker, I felt that backing plate flopping in the breeze. So, not really wanting to deal with taking the rear interior apart right now, this will wait for another day. I knew my hopes for a 10 minute swap were pipe dreams!

Also, this my first purchase from FiddleFart Fab…….. and it is some nice quality stuff! I know his stuff is not cheap, but after seeing these, I may have to take a look at some other goodies.

I feel like those “10 minute swaps” always turn into a disaster but the jobs that I anticipate being a total abortion end up going fine and dandy. Well, not always but you know what I’m saying… Anyway, your post struck home! I get it! lol
