Its been a long time coming and I'm finally going to start on my 94gt. I just pick up
a dss 306 short block but had a question about the motor. It has flat top pistons and I bought a Strim almost two years ago and want to install it also. Do you think I can get it tuned for a weekend car until I can get the injectors I need. I will be getting 42s this coming march but wanted to have it tune now with the 24s and fmu. The block I got dss say is good for spray or n/a and wanted to hear what you guys think about boost 9#s on it. The vortech is going on just wanted some advice, thanks

March is in 12 days.....When do you plan on having the new block/motor in the car?

From what i've read from others.....no one likes a FMU. If you are having someone tune it....you'll be paying twice to have it done for the 42s.

Wait 2 weeks, or more, get the 42s....and get it tuned once. Do it right the first time. It'll take some patience but if you attempt to do 24s and a FMU....and its nothing but headaches, you might as well just play it safe and wait

Run it without the blower to break in the motor and be safe with the 24's for now... THEN add teh blower and 42's and get it tuned all at once...

Is it really worth not breaking the motor in right or burning it up to have more ponies a few weeks earlier?
