Started the new project about 3 weeks ago... The idea was modern, subtle body mods for a clean look, reliable, clean and most of all... CHEAP. $6600 MAX limit for the whole project from beginning to finish.

Found the 66 stang (hence $6600) on ebay for $2500. It was a steal but in Chicago and I live in Texas. The car came with a lot... basically a wrecked 03gt, the 66 coupe and some misc parts.

What it needed
Both quarter patches
the roof/quarter seam was FUBAR and patched with copper
floors
whole front end metal including fenders and inner fenders
most of the interior
Rear leafs

What it came with
MII front suspension with flaming river rack, polished calipers, polished springs, drop spindles,
Ididit tilt steering column
03gt motor/tranny/rear end
03gt seats, console and dash
3 bullitt wheels and tires

anyways, Im sure theres more that it needed and more that it came with but here come the pics.

You can see how the suspension is gonna sit...Im going to have the rear end narrowed about 3-3.5". The rear fenders are rolled and the fronts will be done soon.

Shaved drip rails and I took out the scoop trim. The rear leafs are brand new but I did the Opentracker's (stangnetmember) leaf spring mod

The motor is in and luckily Im able to use the hydroboost setup and the clutch pedal assembly from the new GT. I had to cut out the firewall and put in a custom panel to fit the whole assembly. The bolt holes dont line up and the center hole needed to be bigger

Spent many many hours on the firewall and engine bay. Took out all the excess holes and it will be painted nice gloss black. Its far from professional but it looks pretty clean.

The 8.8 went in pretty easy but as said earlier, it needs to be narrowed. I believe the 96-98 axles are shorter by about 1.5". Fox axles are supposed to be even narrower. Im looking to narrow it atleast 3.5". If I cant, flares will go on.

Total cost so far $3357

I would like to have seen that done for that price. I hate you sold the project beacuse I didn't think it could be done for that budget and wanted to see you prove me wrong.

LOL... trust me..it can be done. I will show a build tally at the end of the project. What is going to put it past the limit is paint and body which I planned on doing myself, but now its going ot be done by the pro's. I will post pics a long the way of the build. Its totally in the best interest of me to keep the costs down, it cuts into my profits every penny I go over the limit
