Yes. Of all the stuff I had to do, I remembered to do it all...except hook up the heater core hoses!!! As soon as I started it, antifreeze leaked into the car because it squirted out of the engine hoses right where the heater box seals to the firewall. I then plugged them into their clips and no more leak, but it already got on the manifolds. I decided to get it on tape because when I first started my 5.0L notch in 2006, it smoked too, so it must mean good luck....

Well....it's 1:44am...just got home from the bar, and I am off to bed. I gotta get up early and get some work done....more to come tomorrow...thanks everyone!

HAHA. Yeah, when I walked in the door I was like wow can't believe I'm not staying at the bar pushing til 2:15 pushing my way to get out past all the drunks that hang around and hang around. I met up with my buddy I haven't seen in about 2 or 3 months. It was a good time. My ears are still ringing.

Ok......I'm at work now....I am going back at it!

More pics.

81 tail panel will not allow 87-93 lights to go it. Make one big hole and remove some of tail panel and weld in new metal so the panel can accept sockets and bulbs. The two middle studs have to have something to bolt to as well. (The ideal way is to weld a 87-93 tail panel in, but I'm not going through all that, and the seal fits good.)

2001 gas tank neck is too long and has the wrong angle. I cut a section out, turned it and welded it.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Old style cars have the early quarter glass. In order to put the newer ones in I had to drill one hole on each side. I also welded tabs on the car so the studs have something to bolt to. I know they use buetel tape to seal, but I wanted to have something to draw them in when I install them to insure there are no leaks.

Don't weld your Vise Grips to the car like I did....I need a new welding helmet I can't see crap.

And finally...mocked in are the 87-93 glasses.

Well...time for lunch and then back to work!!!!!!!!

Thanks.

Just keep modding/fixing/building...it just takes time, practice, trial and error. I still make oops' on every car I build, we're human. I mean look at the pic where I welded my Vise Grips to the car!! HAHA That was so funny I had to take a picture...then grind them off.

BTW.....5 lug conversion is a big acheivement. You have to take apart almost your whole front suspension, and if you did the rear too....give yourself a pat on the back....most don't attempt that.

Well....I cheated a bit on that. Ranger rear axles FTW

Do you have a target date to have it completed?

Ranger axles isn't really cheating, you still have to dig into the pig. That takes patience, I hate opening the diff up.

Target date..... I started in July 2007. My goal was to have it running by December 25th....didn't happen...the New Year...didn't happen. I stopped setting goals for that and March 1st...she fired up. So..........my goal for getting it completed and driveable is sometime in April...but if it goes into May that's okay too.

Guys....the car sounds amazing in person. 2001 4.6L SOHC engine. Stock manifolds, BBK O/R H pipe, MAC 2-1/2 cat-back with 3" tail pipes. And it fit just like a fox body exhaust did. No problems what so ever. I have to readjust the tails, but that is when the car is completely finsihed. I need to get the bumper on and the tires and wheels to see what I need to do with them.

MORE VIDEOS!!!!

No tail pipes. It is just dumped over the axle.

With tail pipes. Sounds amazing in person. I think the video might sound fuzzy.

THANKS GUYS!!!! Man I am pumped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to call it a night since I "work work" in the morning. But believe me...I am going in early to tinker around.

I just went to my parents house and ate steak, carrots, noodles, and a brocolli casserole and I am now on my 3rd 16oz beer. (Good 'ole Dad has a kegorator of Budwieser) YESS!!!

I feel like a million bucks right now! I will keep you guys posted...but I can't really work on the car again til the weekend, and I won't get much accomplished next weekend, so I might start a new thread.....just be on the lookout!!!!!!!!!
