Well sorry for the wait Had interenet problems
I got the bright wiring harness hooked up
the flash to pass works, but brights don't I think I need to redo the harness to make sure it working ok.
I still haven't adjusted the project in the housing. Haven't had much time due to thanksgiving.
All I know right now is that It will get fixed , They drain my battery quickly when my car isn't running
,and they are bright.
I'll try and get some more pics uploaded.

2 are for the power to each light then the third is for the highbeams since they can,t hold 12v.

I was under the impression that HID's only consisted of the bulbs and ballast.. i didnt realize the good kits had an ignitor as well.. and for the life of me i couldnt understand how the cut off worked if the bottom half of the light pattern was being blocked, why wouldnt the top half have light.. I see that to switch to hi beam mode the little cutoff door just folds down. Am i on the right track or completely off? haha

I think the projector was upside down in that picture. The open flap would allow the light to shine upwards more to give you high beams.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong...
Sweet job on those man. Gonna have to try it after I finish the new motor for the stang. I've been dying to do the hid retro-fit in my 02 explorer, Maybe i'll just have to do it twice.....
you are correct. The flap is suppose to be on the bottom. the cut off of light is due too the reflection created by the housing itsself, not the one i made. When the brights are on the beam raise from the cutoff point to a higher cutoff point.

Well since there are so many people wanting better lighting from there head lights, and the HID kits that sell for $150 aren't real hid kits.
Due to the fact that they create a glare and barely light up the road(with smoked headlights) though they are better then stock but for that much you can get cheaper bulbs to do the same.
Ive have had the poor lighting problem since I got my smoked lights.
I went from stock, then performence white bulbs, to "hid" bulbs, none really lit up the road enough to my liking
So ive been searching and reading different forums So I kinda got the idea and have gotten far.

I bought them off ebay for $287 they are e46 hid lights the kit included: 2 ballast, 2 igniters, 2 ds2 bulbs(true HID bulbs), and 2 projector, and luckly no cut wires
Making the housing for the the lights was difficult at first, but with time it got better. First you wrap the projector in Aluminum foil twice, Then lay some fiber glass strips not too big or else it'll leave pockets of air and hole. But once you get the first layer all the way around you can put bigger pieces on.
Then I cut all the extra fiberglass off and cleaned it up some. then pryed it off the projector littleby little, Be very careful you don't break anything. It should look like this.
Then I neede to find a way to secure the projector to the housing and since the projector had 4 mounting holes on it I used them and poured some fiber glass into some take I layed out to make platforms( highlighted with black marker)
Once that was done I needed to clean up the front of the light and since I didn't use the bmw bezel that would of cost an extra $60-$90
The black lines are from where I layed more fiberglass and filled in holes.
To get all the excess off I used my brothers nuematic angle grinder with a red scotchbrite and it cleaned it up nicely. Notice how I left a lip to hide the metal.

I ran in to a snag when I could not locate the connector on the left.
I asked Ben if he had any lying around at work but he didn,t, So I asked neverclear over on e46fanatics.com and he came up with 2 part numbers for me.

if you don't believe me take a look at the invoice total ( those on the invoice are what I bought.).
So All I got left to do Is put some bondo on the housings sand smooth, practice cutting the test lights provided by vp6799

And here is a fake hid bulb kit that I had before. high beams
notice the difference!
I would have had finished them sooner but got into accident in dec. and busted the drivers light up, hid housing was fine but the projector got bent some So I had to purchase new projectors. and was running around with smoked corner, yellow faded headlight, brand new head light,and old stock corner, I did that for a couple months.
but All is good.

IM in the MINORITY on this one, but we are a forum of opinions. I think that is a LOT of time, effort and especially MONEY for a non power, non cosmetic mod. I just read through all the posts and it seems like a big hassle to make the road a LITTLE brighter.. Just my opinion. Respect the dedication though.

Well the hardest part was remembering how i ran the wires. they do help alot, and when I get out of work it is always dark plus its easier to travel at night due to less traffic.
And I hate money as soon as i get some I have to get rid of IT!

I have the same problem, good job, no kids, no wife yet Im always broke....damn this car and trying to go faster
