Project "Face Off": 1980 Mercury Capri aero to four eye Progress Thread!

Apparently she sits and drinks and takes pics.

Then when he's done all the work, she pays him with sexors.

So does that make her a hooker?

Yup. She sat and played on her cell phone and drank tea the whole time. :D

Not really. She helped a lot. There were a lot of parts where I had to have her help hold stuff up or help me push things together and hold 'em while I threaded bolts in, and plus mounting up and aligning the hood was almost a mandatory 2-person job. Hot chicks gettin' dirty with car work FTW. :nice:

looks like a delorean in this pic:shrug:

We still haven't found a proper Mr. Garbage unit to transplant into this one, yet, and the lightning storms around here only come about once a year, so we're having a hard time coming up with the necessary 1.21 jigawatts.

Looks good!! So......what's left???

Rear bumper, tail lenses (on the way), side trim/door mouldings, Bondo, and final paint.

So was the rear converted back? Was this a bubble hatch or flat back?

The car, itself, is an '80 Capri, which would be a flat-hatch. The nose/hood are off an '83, which is a bubble-hatch. It currently has (I think) a '90 Mustang hatch with a Saleen wing. She wants to keep it as a flat-hatch, but wants one of those 3-piece spoilers like the early Capri RS, '79 Pace Car, and '82 Mustang GT - unfortunately, this probably means swapping hatches, otherwise there's gonna be a bunch of filling of holes involved when the Saleen wing comes off.

Yes.

The hatch is the original '80 hatch. :nice:

I'm not sure I see why we'd have to fill holes. It's a Saleen wing. Aren't there ony three holes on each side?

I also need new tires. BAD. With the Saleen air dam they didn't look so big... Now... they look HUGE. OMG... :rlaugh:

dont get mad at me, just look at the pics you posted, and tell me that the aero nose is not sexier, without lying that is

Hey, I like both. My car is an '80 Capri and thus should represent. I think it looks pretty mean now. Sexy Shmexy... I'll take mean.

I am happy with how it looks now. That's all that matters.

ohh I agree, but I would hold on to that areo nose so you have something to entice someone who is going to buy it in the future.

I am 100% behind whatever someone does to their car, its not mine, I was just saying that you know the areo looks better. and you basically said so yourself

Are you finished? The car will never be sold so, that doesn't even factor into this. I like all Fox Mustang/Capri front ends. There is no contest here. If you want to talk about how much "sexier" the aero is, start your own thread.

I did a test fit out of curiosity when I got my three-piece spoiler, the two bolt holes closest to the glass will be exposed if you have a GT hatch. I'm sure Mac Gyver can come up with something :D; and you'll have to drill a bunch of new holes of course.

Whooo hooooo!!! It's alive!!!

Your tires do look completely different with the Capri front end back on. I had to go back and forth between pics to convince myself you didn't change tires!

Is it the tires, the wheels, or both? I dunno but I see what you mean
