Projector headlights on a 96?

My stock headlights need to be replaced on my 96 gt and I was looking into some projector headlights I found on ebay for about $150. Does anyone have pictures of projectors on a 1994-1998 mustang? I want to see what they would look like on the actual car. I can't tell if it would look good or out of place on the car. Any pics would be great, and some feedback on the ebay projectors would be good too. Thanks a lot.

Which set on eBay are they one piece models? I've got projectors on my 02 any the only grief I get about them is here.

The clear version looks a whole lot better than the smoke/black version.

But remember, they do not have a side reflector either clear, or amber. Amber is the only legal option, so you have to keep that in mind.

Keep the old set for inspection, and hope you don't get written up for it during a traffic stop.

If your looking for these, the light output isn't that great. It's actually worse then stock. I'm not sure about the one piece like above, but for $100 more you can get at least the projector correct(if HID's are too expensive). All you need to do is open up the housing and switch out the lenses and reseal. The lenses below can be unscrewed and mounted in place of the others, so that you can still use the stock bulbs.

While i was retrofitting my HID's into the housing above, I tried some silverstars and just the bosch lenses compared to the stock lens, and it was 100X better.

How are those one piece projectors on light output and more importantly cut-off? I would love to tinker with them.

Latino do you have a pic or part number of the lens that you replaced on your projectors. i want to replace the lens on my projectors because the output is really bad. i have the same headlight shown on your car.

Personally I dont like the look of projectors. I would spend $200-$300 for some HID. Really improve your lighting. And its a pretty simple straightforward conversion. Just plug n play.

ALEX, the ones I linked to are the ones i used, just mine came with the other components aswell. Same place i bought them too. They have a great forum to research things.

If you look closely at the pic you notice that the projector can be unbolted by 4 screws, you just need that front half. It's pretty much a straight swap.

Also usually those that go with just fitting HID's and not
the projectors end up blinding oncoming traffic, the projectors need to be in place.

They are the projectors i tried on my 96...i thought the light output was equal to or less then stock....so don't waste your money..go for some clear lense headlights and you'll be happy.

Heres what i switched to...with clear fogs also

latino are these the parts you used for your conversion
2) Bosch Projectors
(2) Hella/Philips LVQ-212 G3 Ballasts
(2) D2S HID Bulbs
(2) Ballast Covers/mounts
(2) Ballast connectors

also did you have to make your own wire harness

hey ALEX, yeah i made my own harness also thats exactly the package i used to go HID. I got sold on the idea that its all OEM parts off of Audi's so the quality is superior and only for about $390.

All the parts needed could be found at RadioShack. About ~$20 to make it and there's a how-to in the University section of hidplanets' forums.

I know most will say that $400 for some lighting is way too much, but hey, it has more function then a shakerhood, bling wheels, body kits, mufflers etc(all which are cool if done right).
