I know that it's a little late for this question since I already ordered the parts, but has anyone here installed the projector headlights that are listed on 50resto.com? Were there any headaches with the install? How was the fit and how are they compared to the stockers? I have to replace mine because water keeps filling the driver's side headlight and keeps blowing bulbs. Thanks.

they are not as bright as a clear set of lights. You might be disappointed with them unless you get an HID conversion set. Then it will light up like the BMW's. As far as fitment, I had to break some of the header panel to get them to fit. But not a real headache. The next set I had after that was Cobra lights and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

yeah, they are still brigher than stock, but I'd say not by much. Here's a link www.hid-lights.com They are great kits. I know a friend that bought the kit from them for a GTi and I bought replacement bulbs for my older HID kit from them. I have no complaints at all. Both my cars have HID kits. I would never own another car without HID's. You will not be dissapointed. And they install very easily and quickly. It's all plug and play.

Please please please do not throw an HID kit into a stock halogen reflector housing. It's just not good. It causes unwanted glare for oncoming drivers. I retrofitted a pair of BMW e46 bi-xenon projectors into my stock fox housing and couldn't be happier. Its nice to see at night for a change. It was really labor intensive though.

I'm currently in the process of redoing my whole retro as well as making fiberglass shrouds for the projectors. I'm putting them in ultra clear housings and trying to make it look more factory. I'm taking pics as I go, so a write-up may be possible in the future.

He is not putting them in stock housings. He already purchased aftermarket projectors, which have the reflectors in them. I had the same pair and they cut off the upper light just like yours and did not cause any issues to oncoming drivers, as long as they were aimed properly.
