my street edge 3000 stall torque converter from edge racing should be here this week, and friday it all going back together finally. do i have to fill the torque converter up with fluid? could someone tell me what to do, and also when i put it on does it just slip on like the old one slipped off, becuase i heard that you can install it wrong and i dont see how. thanks!

The only thing I know you need to do, is rotate the converter so it seats in the pump, otherwise, you'll do tons of damage to the pump. I'm not exactly sure how many times it needs to seat, but i remember it popped a couple times with my friend's AODE in his '97. I did add enough fluid to it, so it wouldn't run empty, but wouldn't spill over when I turned it up on its side to put it into the transmission. You should feel a huge difference with the converter, especially with the 4.10 gears, too :nice: Good luck, let us know how it goes!

My experience is with an AOD, but I believe it's pretty much universal.

Put a quart of fluid in the converter. Then slide the onverter onto the input shaft. It will 'click' into place a coupel times, maybe three. You will know it's on all the way when it is fully inside the bellhousing. If you want -- take measurements on your old one first so you know.

I think that's all there is to it. :nice:

Three clicks.... and put a half quart in the converter the night before. Andre said it can't hurt to let it soak over night. :nice:

Almost forgot... mine as a fresh rebuild. Crazy thing held 14 or more quarts. I'll have to go look it up, but it was definately over a case. You might look at putting a tranny additive in it while you are at it. :nice:

well the one i bought has 12 thousand miles on it since a rebuild..Did you get the hex bolts for your edge converter? the guy on the phone said the come with nuts too but he said not to use them, and when the converter came last night there were no nuts, and i was wondering if you used them or not? also what kind of additive, im going to run mercon V in it.
