Pulled car out of shed...PI$$ED! help please!

So got home for spring break yesterday, get the car out of the shed today. Starts right up, runs fine...stupid stereo's not working. Pulled everything, all the fuses are fine no power to power lead wire. Since it's night i also just found out i have no headlights, dash lights or interior lights. My multifunctions brand new along with the headlight switch. ALL fuses are perfectly fine...WTF????????????
my dad and i are guessing a rodent chewed through some lines, but rear brakes lights, turn signals, high beams (only if i pull the multifunction back) all work. i really am at a loss. help pelase

i am going to florida for 5 days tomorrow so i need some quick responses please.

if you've checked all the fuses and they're all good, then yeah, you've got deeper more time consuming problems. But from what you've said, I'm not sure anyone can say "oh, it's the dinglehopper"... Good Luck, hope you get it worked out. Just make sure you have your rabies shot before you start dismantling.

Well duh. We all know the dinglehopper is used on mod motors only.

I agree with RS's sentiments. I would start at the headlight switch and check the parking light terminal output. A new switch doesnt mean the wiring to the switch is sound.

For headlights that only work when using flash-to-pass, look at the red/yellow wire from the headlight switch to the MF switch. The wire has a tendency to overload, and can back out from the MF switch, as well as the headlight switch.

Also...check the fusable links under the hood. And, the ignition switch. I remember my ignition switch was bad and the electrical system did all kinds of crazy stuff. I seem to remember the headlights didn't work. As everyone knows, the ign switches on these cars are notorious.

i def. know all the fuses are fine, i checked the links under the hood, fine, car runs fines...both multifunction AND heradlight switches are brand new, but ill pull them out and make sure nothing backed out. Im really hoping ntohing got under tha dash and chewed the heck out of some wires. looks like ill be pulling the dash apart for the next few hours. Thanks for the responses, ill keep ya informed.

i had the same problem. well a couple times. once it was my multifunction switch and i could only drive pulling it back and using highbeams. the second time was my own stupidity and i was rushing to get my dash back together. the headlight switch wasnt all the way into the harness and the lights would sometimes come on. maybe your headlight switch is bad or melted? if you think about it, your interior lights will only light up if your headlight switch/parking lights are on.

also it would take a short to mess up that fuseable link, if the car was sitting, dunno what would do that. was the battery disconnected during storage?

edit: maybe all ur bulbs are burnt out? jk

I had a similar problem in my DD couple years ago, dash lights when out but the fuse was fine. Turns out the fuse was fine because it was the wrong fuse so it didn't blow and my dash got fried. Just thought this was worth mentioning, check to see if all the fuses are the right size for where they are plugged in.
